A year of Earth from space ????

Today at 15:46 CET marks the March equinox — when day and night are (nearly) equal worldwide.

From space, it’s the moment the day–night boundary, the terminator line, runs from pole to pole. On the ground, it marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

Seasonal transitions like this are central to Earth observation, shaping vegetation, weather patterns, ocean conditions and many of the variables we track over time.

The video shows a year worth of images of our planet (with one image per day) taken from March equinox 2025 to March equinox 2026 by Meteosat-12.
