Last Friday, 2nd of February 2024, an asteroid dubbed 2008 OS7 came within 1.7 million miles of Earth- just seven times the distance of the moon. It never posed any serious threat to our world, but its passing served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of these potentially cataclysm asteroid encounters.
